Airway infections can have several causes: besides infection factors (e.g. bacteria, viruses and Mycoplasma), environmental aspects such as poor accommodation circumstances (draught, overpopulation) and weather conditions also play a role
Since birds with airway infections also often have trichomonad infection, it is wise to treat for the latter at the same time
